Prefixless q-ary Balanced Codes
We will present a Knuth-like method for balancing q-ary codewords, which is characterized by the absence of a prefix that carries the information on the balancing index. Lookup tables for coding and decoding the prefix are avoided. Index Terms Constrained code, balanced code, running digital sum, Knuth code, error correction.
متن کاملEfficient balanced codes
Ahstruct-Coding schemes in which each codeword contains equally many zeros and ones are constructed in such a way that they can be efficiently encoded and decoded. A BINARY word of length m can be called balanced if it contains exactly lm/2] ones and [m/21 zeros. Let us say that a balanced code with n information bits and p parity bits is a set of 2 " balanced binary words, each of length n + p...
متن کاملTheory and design of m-ary balanced codes which are invariant under symbol permutation
A symbol permutation invariant balanced (SPI-balanced) code over the alphabet Zm = {0, 1, . . . , m − 1} is a block code over Zm such that each alphabet symbol occurs as many times as any other symbol in every codeword. For this reason every permutation among the symbols of the alphabet changes a SPI-balanced code into a SPI-balanced code. This means that SPI-balanced words are “the most balanc...
متن کاملPerformance of Efficient Balanced Codes
The sequences that can be generated by this encoder are identical to those generated by the industry standard, the IBM (1,7) code. The statistical properties are identical as well. As far as the channel is concerned, the performance of the new code should be equivalent to that of the IBM code. If any difference exists, it would have to be caused by the mapping between user bits and channel bits...
متن کاملCanonical (m,n)−ary hypermodules over Krasner (m,n)−ary hyperrings
The aim of this research work is to define and characterize a new class of n-ary multialgebra that may be called canonical (m, n)&minus hypermodules. These are a generalization of canonical n-ary hypergroups, that is a generalization of hypermodules in the sense of canonical and a subclasses of (m, n)&minusary hypermodules. In addition, three isomorphism theorems of module theory and canonical ...
